Note: The effective recommended dose for Alpha GPC is approximately 600 mg per day.
GenSoma contains Alpha GPC and 8 specially combined amino acids countering the effects of many aspects of aging and boosts cognition and aids with dementia, increases physical and mental performance, it can increase muscle mass and it can support stroke recovery.
Starting at age 20, human growth hormone (HGH) declines at a rate of 14% per decade and at age 60, you only retain 25% of your body’s HGH levels. This reduction can greatly contribute to accelerated aging and its many symptoms. “Increasing HGH levels is the only anti-ageing treatment known that actually makes people look younger!” (Ronald M Klatz M.D., President, American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine in his book “Grow Young With HGH”).
In women, signs of HGH deficiency include dry skin, thinning hair, greater belly fat and the development of wrinkles.
Key Benefits:
- Research has shown it could Increase levels of HGH (the human growth hormone)
- Improved brain health
- Better cognitive performance
- Enhanced exercise capacity and improved muscle growth and maintenance
- Improved energy levels
- Better mood and motivation
- An effective nootropic (it Is a precursor to both acetylcholine and phosphatidylcholine)
- increased free fatty acids and ketone body levels
- Can increase dopamine and serotonin levels
Ingredients Described
There are two different types of choline: CDP-Choline and Alpha GPC (L-alpha-glycerylphosphorylcholine or choline alphoscerate). CDP-choline or citicoline is made of choline (with two phosphate groups) and cytidine, while alpha-GPC is made of choline (with one phosphate group) and glycerol.
In vivo, CDP-choline releases choline, cytidine, and other metabolites. It can also be transformed into phosphatidylcholine, which the brain uses to make acetylcholine and build cell membranes. Alpha-GPC more directly supplies choline for the production of acetylcholine, (Secades, J. Exp Clin Pharmacol , 2006), a neurotransmitter found in both brain and muscle tissue.
CDP Choline contains 18% choline and doesn’t cross the blood-brain barrier effectively. Alpha GPC contains a 40% choline and crosses the blood-brain barrier with ease providing a higher percentage of choline with high bioavailability. In some European countries, Alpha-GPC is a prescription drug for Alzheimer’s disease.
Overall, this difference allows Alpha-GPC to:
- raise choline blood levels to a greater extent creating a more powerful impact on age-related cognitive decline and physical performance
- stimulate fat burning and growth hormone production
Alpha GPC may also raise the levels of other brain-protective neurotransmitters such as:
- GABA
- Dopamine
- Serotonin
- Inositol phosphate
Amino Acids
The amino acid combination was formulated to support the benefits of Alpha GPC in GenSoma..
In general, studies have shown that combining these amino acids has more benefits taking each on their own. Each have been associated with increasing muscle mass, nootropic effects, more energy and healthy aging.
In particular, L-Arginine and L-Glutamate gained global attention in 1981 when Italian researcher A. Isidori, M.D, et al at the University of Rome determined that a precise combination the two given orally was more than 10 times more effective at increasing blood levels of HGH than taking L-Arginine alone.
